DIY deep conditioning masks are a great way to moisturize, rejuvenate, soften and strengthen your natural hair using readily available products in your kitchen.
What products can you use? What recipes exist? In this article, we’ve researched a couple of simple DIY deep conditioning recipes you can try if you are a DIY lover.
Let’s start with Joslyn’s recipe.
4 DIY Deep Conditioning Mask Recipes
When deep conditioning your hair, it’s best to do it on clean hair. This is because you wouldn’t want to introduce the mask on dirty hair with clogged pores or greasy hair; it’ll defeat the purpose. You can either rinse out with just water, or you can use a shampoo.

DIY Deep Conditioning Tips You Should Know
Consistency is important to keep the results you notice. Pick a regimen for deep conditioning your hair and stick with it.
For masks that infuse protein into your hair, you should balance your frequency of use. Your hair needs more moisture, so do well to use more moisturizing masks.
Apply your conditioner to clean hair. For effectiveness, don’t skip heat when deep conditioning. Covering with a plastic cap and wrapping with a towel works if you don’t have a hooded dryer.
Don’t forget to sum all that goodness your hair has received with a leave-in conditioner after washing off the mask.
